Microscopes are mainly used to magnify tiny objects into instruments that can be seen by the naked eye. The optical microscope was first created by Jansen in the Netherlands in 1590. The optical microscope is mainly composed of eyepiece, objective lens, stage and reflector. Both the eyepiece and the objective lens are convex lenses with different focal lengths. The focal length of the convex lens of the objective lens is smaller than the focal length of the convex lens of the eyepiece. The objective lens is equivalent to the lens of the projector, and the object becomes an inverted, enlarged real image through the objective lens. The eyepiece is equivalent to an ordinary magnifying glass, and the real image becomes an upright, enlarged virtual image through the eyepiece. Objects from the microscope to the human eye are all inverted magnified virtual images. The mirror is used to reflect and illuminate the object being observed. Reflectors generally have two reflecting surfaces: one is a flat mirror, which is used when the light is strong; the other is a concave mirror, which is used when the light is weak to converge the light.
Precautions:
(1) Before using the microscope, you should be familiar with the names of each part of the microscope and how to use it, especially the characteristics of identifying the three types of objective lenses.
(2) Most of the specimens observed in the practice of parasitology are colorless and lighter in color, so attention must be paid to the adjustment of light.
(3) When observing fresh specimens, a cover glass must be added to prevent the specimen from being dried and deformed due to evaporation or contamination and corroding the objective lens. At the same time, the specimen surface can be leveled and the light can be concentrated, which is beneficial to observation.
Using The Microscope
- To get started,use a prepared microscope glass side,and place it on the center of the microscope Stage.Clamp it down with the Stage Clips.
- After you have set up the microscope with the corresponding illumination,look through the Eyepiece.
- Always begin with the 4x Objective.Turn the focusing knob until a clear image is obtained.When the desired view is obtained under the lowest power(4x),rotate the nosepiece to the next higher magnification(10x).The nosepiece should "click"into position.Adjust the focusing knob as needed to once again have a clear view of the specimen.
- Focus the microscope by slowly turning the Focusing Knob,until an image forms in the Eyepiece.
- If the image appears too bright,rotate the Aperture Rotary Diaphragm until a comfortable view is seen.If the image is too dim,use the largest aperture and increase the brightness of the light source.

Clean the non-optical parts:
Remove the battery first. Use a soft brush to remove dust and dirt on the accessories of the microscope. Use a soft lint-free cloth to clean the contaminated area. You can first moisten the soft cloth with a neutral detergent. Confirm that the equipment is dry before use.
Clean the optical part:
The best way is to remove the lens to be cleaned from the frame for cleaning: first blow off the loose and easy dust, and then wet a high-quality lens cloth or soft fiber with a small amount of alcohol to wipe the surface of the lens clean.
When not in use:
Please keep it properly and store it in a dry and sterile place. If not in use for a long time, store the microscope and accessories in the correct container. We recommend that all eyepieces and objective lenses be packed in airtight containers with desiccant. If you do not use the microscope for a long time, remove the battery.
